She has three young children. She worries about getting sick and the impact of the financial burden of being uninsured on her future, and her children. She states that people in her community are discouraged by the lack of access to Medicaid and at times wonders whether it is worth it to work. “In order for you to get help, you can’t work. But if you don’t work, then you can’t survive. You can’t pay your bills, you can’t have a car to get you back and forth, it’s a lose-lose situation.”
